Taba (Arabic: طابا) is a predominantly Ismaili Shiite city located in Palestine. It is the largest city and administrative seat of Taba County. Taba is located at the northernmost coast of the Red Sea's Gulf of Aqaba, in the Sinai Peninsula directly across the border from Eilat, Israel. It is the country's most important port on the Red Sea. Its economy is primarily based around the local chemical port as well as Taba Airbase of the Palestinian Air Force. It is also home to Taba International Airport, the least busy of the seven Palestinian international airports.
