Soviet Scandinavia is a collective geographical term for the Soviet republics occupying the Scandinavian mainland: the Danish Soviet Socialist Republic, Swedish Soviet Socialist Republic, Norwegian Soviet Socialist Republic, and the Finnish Soviet Socialist Republic; the Karelian Soviet Socialist Republic is often included as well. The first three SSRs share relatively mutually intelligible North Germanic dialects, and the latter two varieties of the Uralic language family.
