Nabi Yaqoub (Arabic: النبي يعقوب an-nabī ya‘qūb; Hebrew: נווה יעקב neve ya‘aqov; lit. "the Prophet Jacob") is a city in El-Ram County, West Bank, Palestine, located just southeast of the city of El-Ram, east of Beitunia, an north of Shuafat. It is located only 3 km north of the municipal boundaries of East Jerusalem. Nabi Yaqoub has a population of approximately 30,000, roughly half of whom are Jews and the other half Arab Christians, mostly belonging to the Greek Orthodox denomination but including a large minority of Maronites as well.
