The Communist Party of Tajikistan (CPTJ; Tajik: Ҳизби Коммунистии Тоҷикистон Hizbi Kommunistiyi Tojikiston) is the founding and ruling political party of the current Tajik Democratic Republic, and the oldest active political party in the country. It is led by First Secretary of the Central Committee Miroj Abdullayev, in office since 2005, who also served as Premier of the Tajik Democratic Republic from 2005 to 2010. The party is a national branch of the All-Union Communist Party, the governing party of the Eurasian Union, of which the Tajik Socialist Republic is one of 26 union republics.
